Description

The Dive is a 2023 underwater diving film starring Sophie Lowe (Medieval) and Louisa Krause (Billions), much of which was filmed in the popular diving destination of Malta, both underwater and on the surface. Directed by Maximilian Erlenwein and written by Erlenwein with Joachim Heden, The Dive focuses on two sisters, Drew and May, whose diving trip off the rocky shore is abruptly interrupted when a landslide above the water sends a cascade of rocks down on them, leaving May trapped at 28 meters by the debris. With dangerously low oxygen levels and cold temperatures, it is up to her sister to fight for her life. The music for The Dive is composed by Volker Bertelmann and Raffael Seyfried. Bertelmann is a German composer also known as Hauschka. In 2022, he won an Oscar and a BAFTA for his work on All Quiet on the Western Front. For the soundtrack of The Dive, he teamed up with Raffael Seyfried, who previously composed the music for the acclaimed 2018 drama series Patrick Melrose.
