Description

The Norwegian pianist Bobo Stenson was discovered within the quartet of American tenor saxophonist Charles Lloyd. His playing was directly reminiscent of Bill Evans, fluid, fragile, and poetic. For several years, he has been developing a trio with bassist Anders Jormin and drummer Jon Christensen, which has borne fruit (the previous albums "War Orphans" and "Reflections" have been rightly acclaimed). His trio is becoming one of the most exceptional there is, on par with that of Bill Evans or Keith Jarrett (interactive playing, poetic form, states of grace). Here and there, throughout these two captivating albums from start to finish, Bobo Stenson touches on the essence of music, the primal song.
