Bobby Rush (born Emmett Ellis Jr. in Homer, Louisiana, on November 10, 1933) is an American blues musician, songwriter, producer, and singer. His style blends elements of blues, rap, and funk, with a touch of humor about the genre's clichés. Rush has won twelve Blues Music Awards and, in 2017, at the age of 83, his first Grammy Award for the album Porcupine Meat. He is a member of the Blues Hall of Fame, the Mississippi Hall of Fame, and the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame.
