There are rare, powerful, and timeless voices that grab you by the gut from the very first listen. Bobbie's voice is in line with the greats she has admired since childhood, with Joni Mitchell and Dolly Parton at the forefront. Bobbie grew up just outside the French capital, but it is in the United States that she draws her musical inspirations, nurtured by the blues and soul vinyl records inherited from her father. Her debut album, 11 finely crafted songs aimed straight at the heart, sounds like a classic of Americana folk. In it, Bobbie traces her intimate and melancholic journey towards her dream, like a road movie: the loss of her father when she was a child, which replays and colors her love life, the courage to leave troubled waters and emancipate herself to allow herself to follow her star. The organ, pedal steel, and gospel choirs arrange the album in the tradition of the genre and dress it in nostalgia, a central theme that inspires the album's title track: "The Sacred in the Ordinary," or the art of finding, like in a childhood snack at her grandmother's, the sacred in the ordinary. "It’s through word of mouth that Bobbie is making her place among the current revelations," warns Le Figaro in the double page it dedicated to her. Bon Entendeur, the electro duo with millions of streams, has not been mistaken in inviting her to sing on their next album. In 2024, she will also showcase her full potential on stage: after a performance at the Francofolies de La Rochelle in 2022 and opening for Gabi Hartmann and JS Ondara, she will headline at the Café de la Danse on April 4, 2024.
