Bob Lenox offers the rare synthesis of a "Greenwich Village" blues-folk inherited from the 1970s with a contemporary mystique, born from a long period of hardship that has led him to happily live in Berlin today. A child of rebellious America and an artist from the vibrant post-war New York, Bob Lenox was early on cherished by the biggest stars of the music scene, such as Ike and Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Charles Mingus, and Jimi Hendrix at the end of the 1960s. The cursed poet does not escape the grim fate of the rebellious artists of his time and disappears from the scene by the end of the 1970s. Elias Bellouti and Tony Baillargeat, meeting Bob Lenox in Berlin in 2004, managed to convince him and enable him to create this album where the artist draws from the roots of his art and soul, offering 12 tracks of rare power. Rising from the ashes, Bob Lenox asserts his place among the top ranks of great American blues and folk musicians: from pioneers like Jimmie Rodgers, Gene Autry, or Hank Williams, to the last icons such as Bob Dylan or Johnny Cash, in a contemporary style reminiscent of Calvin Russell, or even Tom Waits.
