The Bootleg Series Vol. 18: Through The Open Window, 1956-1963 Highlights
Description
This new volume in the award-winning Bootleg Series chronicles Dylan's emergence and maturation as a songwriter and performer, from Minnesota to bohemian Greenwich Village in the early 1960s. It includes rare outtakes from Columbia Records, recordings made at club gigs, small informal gatherings, in friends' apartments, and at jam sessions in now-defunct musician hangouts.
The 2CD and 4LP edition features 42 tracks, 18 of which are entirely unreleased, as well as 9 very rare tracks.
The deluxe 8CD box set includes 139 tracks - 48 previously unreleased performances, as well as 38 very rare tracks, a hardcover book with in-depth liner notes by Sean Wilentz and over 100 rare photographs. The last two discs of the box set consist of the complete unreleased recording of Dylan's iconic 1963 Carnegie Hall concert, mixed from the original tapes.
