Bob Dylan was just 20 years old and had a brand new stage name when he recorded this seminal album, for a handful of dollars (402, according to legend), at the beginning of his phenomenal career. Elvis's rock music, in this dawn of the sixties, no longer enthused that segment of youth who chose Pete Seeger and Woodie Guthrie as their heroes instead, to whom Dylan dedicated one of the two original songs he wrote for this first effort. The rest consists of traditional folk songs (the inescapable "House Of The Rising Sun") and folk and blues covers.
