The Blue Aeroplanes are Bristol’s longest-running band and a true art-rock institution that has inspired generations of post-punk and alternative bands, including R.E.M., Radiohead and Manic Street Preachers. “Magical Realism - The Best Of The Blue Aeroplanes 1985-2025” is the first definitive anthology curated by the band, featuring tracks from their catalogue, recently remastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR Mastering. The collection includes 23 tracks, with indie anthems like "... And Stones' and 'Jacket Hangs', fan favourites such as the classics 'Fun' and 'Bury Your Love Like Treasure', as well as more recent songs including 'Dead Tree ! Dead Tree !' which has become a highlight of the band’s legendary live sets. Two bonus tracks are also included - “Showing Off To Impress The Girls”, a recording by the pre-Blue Aeroplanes band Art Objects, and “I Will Love You”, an exclusive demo of a brand-new song.
