Grand Morbid Funeral is the fourth studio album by Bloodbath, pillars of Swedish death metal, offered here on CD at a mid-range price. Formed in Stockholm in 1998 by members of Katatonia, Opeth and Paradise Lost, the band established itself as an absolute reference in old school death metal, inspired by the legendary scenes of Stockholm and Florida. Released in 2014, this album is unanimously considered the darkest, dirtiest and most brutal in their discography. Recorded in Stockholm and mixed by David Castillo, Grand Morbid Funeral favors an organic and visceral sound, bucking the trend of overly polished modern productions.
