Blink-182

Description

With age rounding the edges and softening manners, Blink-182 has diluted its wine, and this trio from Poway (California) now openly embraces pop, vindictive for sure, but with little punk left other than its beautiful energy and the snot displayed in some photos. This is rather a good sign. After covering the rather light legacy of punk in four albums, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Scott Raynor understood that the salvation of a band like theirs depended on radio, hence the need to tone it down a bit. Still capable of raising the volume (Stockholm Syndrome, Go), the band now excels in arranging pop miniatures, energetic for sure, but tailored for the airwaves where they should rightfully find refuge (Asthenia, Easy Target).
