Hot Rock Time Machine

Description

After 2 studio albums – "Dying Breed" (2019) and "Untamed" (2022) - which marked the revival of the band, affirming its identity both musically and visually, the Sleaze rockers of BlackRain, hailing from Annecy - Swan Hellion (vocals/guitar), Matthieu de la Roche (bass) and Max 2 (guitar) - took a "little break" to take the time to update some significant songs from their past. With the arrival of drummer Franky Costanza (Dagoba, Les Tambours du Bronx) in their ranks, the quartet simply decided to re-record/remix 10 songs previously released on "Lethalp Dose Of" (2011) and "It Begins" (2013). The initial idea was to make these old tracks accessible to a broader audience that (re)discovered BlackRain starting in 2019, notably through digital platforms; but also to align them with the current sound of the band. To do this, they teamed up with their buddy Hannes Braun (singer of Kissin' Dynamite) who took care of the final mix.
Together they developed this little bomb titled "Hot Rock Time Machine," which BlackRain is about to unleash in a 100% independent manner on the label Single Bel. Beware, this musical "back to the future" is absolutely not synonymous with a creative pause, as BlackRain already has most of the songs that will make up their next studio album in reserve. However, after more than 20 years of existence, the band wanted to ensure that essential songs from their career, often present in the setlists of their concerts, were not left by the wayside. Revisiting them, with Franky behind the drums, was also an opportunity for Swan, Matt, and Max to take stock in order to tackle the future stronger than ever!
