AT ZEENATH PARALLEL HEAVENS

In 20 years, the German artist Black To Comm aka Marc Richter has pushed the boundaries and fused the aesthetics of art, conceptual installations, and music, being part of a wave of innovation alongside his peers Pita, Fennesz, Felicia Atkinson, and later Sarah Davachi, to name just a few.
On this new album simply titled "Zeenath Parallel Heavens," Black to Comm contemplates the hybridity of each of us, whether it be sexual, racial, cultural, linguistic, or otherwise. Richter reflects personal dualities by employing a combination of sounds he has created and manipulated samples, thus blurring the boundaries. This time, these sources have been pushed to the extreme and he has explored the contrasts of these combined sound palettes. "It was created by a combination of sampling and my own recordings, then by a lot of studio work, editing, and collaging, which is the main process. I always try to blur the line between sampling and my own recordings, as well as between 'real' instruments, MIDI, electronics, editing, between authenticity and theatricality/artificiality.
