The band was coming off a world tour for their previous album, 'Sabotage', which had seen their live performances evolve to include keyboards and synthesizers. These newly incorporated instruments and sounds were then introduced into the recording process for 'Technical Ecstasy'. The new songs encompass a wide range of styles, from the harshness of "Back Street Kids" to the ballad "It's Alright", the funky "All Moving Parts (Stand Still)" and the progressive rock "Gypsy". The Deluxe Edition features a remastered version of the eight-track album, as well as a completely new mix of the album created by Steven Wilson from the original analogue tapes.With eight unreleased tracks and alternative mixes. These include different mixes of "You Won't Change Me" and "Rock 'n' Roll Doctor", as well as outtakes and instrumental versions of "She's Gone". The collection concludes with 10 unreleased live tracks recorded during the 1976-77 world tour. The songs touch on different eras of the band's history, with old tracks such as "Black Sabbath", "War Pigs" (from Paranoid), "Symptom Of The Universe", "Snowblind" and "Children Of The Grave", as well as the new songs "Gypsy" and "Dirty Women".The collection comes with a comprehensive hardback book containing illustrations, liner notes, rare memorabilia and photos from the era, as well as a replica of the 1976-77 world tour concert book and a large color poster of the iconic Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgerson/Aubrey Powell/Peter Christopherson) futuristic robot image, perfect for framing.
