Description

From “Where Is The Love” to “Ritmo,” the Black Eyed Peas have continued to rack up hits over the past three decades. Their ability to reinvent themselves, blending genres and references, always with precision and efficiency, has brought people together around the world. Their previous single “Ritmo,” featuring J Balvin, is no exception, combining Latin and urban sounds with a sample of Corona’s eurodance hit “The Rythm Of TheNight” released in 1993. Top 3 in airplay and sales in France, certified platinum, the track also ranks #1 on Spotify Worldwide, #1 on the Billboard Latin chart and #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts. Used in the soundtrack of the film “Bad Boys For Life,” “Ritmo” is accompanied by a colorful retro-futuristic video that has surpassed 600 million views on Vevo. On April 10, the Black Eyed Peas released their new single, titled Mamacita, with Latin American trap/reggaeton singer Ozuna. The female vocal part is provided by the sublime J.Rey Soul (Jessica Reynoso), who has been collaborating with the group since their album “Masters Of The Sun.” The result is a new up-tempo Anglo/Hispanic hit blending pop, Latin, urban sounds and 80s references, made to be one of the hits of summer 2020. The track is accompanied by a very 70s-style video, once again successful, which ranked #1 on YouTube worldwide upon release. The track is already making waves in France: #12 Shazam, #7 iTunes, and already nearly 1 million streams/week. Already in rotation on NRJ, Fun Radio and local radio stations, Mamacita is already Top 40 in heavy rotation after 15 days and should quickly reach the top 10. Ritmo and Mamacita will be on the Black Eyed Peas’ new album, titled “Translation,” due out on June 12. This 15-track release will include collaborations with Shakira, Maluma, Karol G, Becky G, Piso 21, French Montana, yga & Nicky Jam, DJ Snake... After several years away, the group is finally returning to pop sounds and has restarted the hit-making machine.
