Vulnicura - Cd Digipack Deluxe - Fourreau avec visuel alternatif
Description
With Vulnicura, her eighth solo album and four years after Biophilia, Björk exorcises the ghosts of her romantic breakup. This new album was written, produced and recorded in collaboration with Venezuelan producer Arca (Kanye West, FKA Twigs.) and English musician The Haxan Cloak. An etymologically therapeutic album — from the Latin vulnus, “wound,” and cura, “care” — Vulnicura sees the avant-garde diva decipher this failed love affair with the precision of an anthropologist as much as with the passion of an injured woman. She explains that Vulnicura is about her breakup with artist Matthew Barney. It is a “completely heartbreaking album” that follows “an emotional chronology” with three songs about “before the breakup and three about after.” “The anthropologist in me decided to share them as they are. At first I was afraid of being too self-indulgent, and then I told myself that it would make the album even more universal. I hope these tracks can be a help, a crutch for others, and prove how natural this process is: the wound and the healing of the wound.” A breakup that has evidently inspired the diva, who returns at the height of her art, with an album already recognized as one of her greatest records. The Icelander has reserved the premiere of her concerts for New York, where she will perform six times at Carnegie Hall and at City Center in the spring, alongside a major retrospective of her work that will open on March 8 at MoMA.
