After the breakup of Generation X, Billy Idol moved to New York where a single from the third and final album of the deceased group, "Dancing With Myself", was a hit in the clubs. As a result, he knows what he has to do: continue with the same producer, Keith Forsey (former drummer, disco-oriented), hire an effective guitarist partner (the famous Steve Stevens, a sort of hard and clean Johnny Thunders, who will be a big part of Idol's success) and bring the hit back on this first album. Not to mention writing tracks like "White Wedding", undoubtedly his best song. With this record that adapts the moribund punk to mass consumption (big sound, synths, danceable beat) and his handsome face that loops on MTV, Billy is on the road to success.
