Bill Withers was a modest, gentle yet imposing musical figure, responsible for some of the greatest universally known soul hits ever written. It’s no surprise that "Just the Two of Us" and "Ain't No Sunshine" earned him two Grammy Awards and undoubtedly played a major role in his induction into both the Songwriters and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Still Bill is Withers' third studio album and continues to showcase his remarkable versatility, addressing Philadelphia soul, funk, blues, and 70s folk singer/songwriter styles. Upon its release, the record achieved commercial and critical success and is considered a landmark piece of 1970s R&B. It includes the hit singles "Lean on Me" and "Use Me," as well as "Who Is He (And What Is He to You)?" featured on the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. Unsurprisingly, alongside Just As I Am, this album also appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time, ranking at #333. This edition includes a booklet featuring a reflective essay on Bill Withers written by Grammy-nominated poet, journalist, and humanitarian Kevin Powell.
