The Brilliant
Description
To this day, jazz pianists are influenced by Bill Evans for his use of impressionistic harmony, his interpretation of the traditional jazz repertoire, and his rhythmically independent and "singing" melodic lines. Evans first gained attention by joining Miles Davis's sextet at the time when Kind of Blue was recorded. After leaving the sextet, Evans began his career as a bandleader, which he concluded with his last trio featuring Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums. This trio recorded The Brilliant in 1980 live at the Keystone Jazzclub in San Francisco, just before Evans's passing. The Brilliant is available on black vinyl.Buy The Brilliant at the best price
