Bill Evans's first recordings in Europe (Denmark) are released for the first time!
Elemental Music is proud to announce an exciting new collection of unreleased recordings by jazz piano master Bill Evans, *Tales: Live in Copenhagen (1964)*, a limited edition mastered by Bernie Grundman.
This is the eleventh collection of unreleased recordings by the pianist, authorized by the Bill Evans Estate and produced by Zev Feldman, Elemental's partner and award-winning musical archaeologist known as the "Jazz Detective."
"You are holding the first known recording of Bill Evans performing in Europe," explains Marc Myers. "Recorded in the summer of 1964, during his first overseas tour with a trio, these ten unreleased tracks were captured in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Chuck Israels on bass and Larry Bunker on drums. These tracks are also remarkable because they are among the best works of this ensemble. There is even a standard that was recorded for the first time and never reappeared in Evans's discography."
