Beth Orton has long been considered one of the most unique and expressive voices in music, a voice that has continued to enrich and gain wisdom over time. Weather Alive is Beth Orton's first album in over six years. It was born from a collection of memories and experiences spanning a lifetime: stories that delve into a stream of consciousness, depicting struggle, healing, and beauty. For the first time in her career, Beth recorded and produced the entire album from her home studio in London. Weather Alive features a supergroup of collaborators, including Tom Skinner from The Smile, jazz poet Alabaster de Plume, multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily, and Mercury Prize nominee Tom Herbert. The year 2022 will truly be "the year of Beth Orton." Beth not only has a new album, but she is also reissuing the 20th anniversary editions of her first albums: "Central Reservation" and "Trailer Park" (both via Sony Music), and she will be participating in the new album by William Orbit, which will be released later this year.
