BERZERKER LEGION was formed in 2016 by guitarists Tomas Elofsson (HYPOCRISY) and Alwin Zuur (ASPHYX) with the vision of creating the most bellicose quality death metal possible. They recruited a line-up of solid and well-known musicians consisting of James Stewart (VADER) on drums, Jonny Pettersson (WOMBBATH) on vocals, and Fredrik Isaksson (DARK FUNERAL) on bass to complete the Legion.
Alwin Zuur (guitar/songwriter) comments: "Over the last few years, Tomas and I have met regularly at shows and festivals.
Most of our conversations were about music and styles.
During these meetings, we discovered that we really had a lot in common musically.
Musically, our first album "Obliterate the Weak" strikes the perfect balance between brutality, melody, and harmony. Being a fan of the early 90s Swedish Gothenburg style, like AT THE GATES, EUCHARIST, A CANOROUS QUINTET, as well as a die-hard fan of old-school brutal death metal with bands like BOLT THROWER, OBITUARY, I always wanted to write songs showing a blend of these death metal genres.
With our new album "Chaos Will Reign", we have leaned more heavily on the typical musical blend of melody and brutality. "Chaos Will Reign" is more complete, massive, and powerful thanks to Jonas Kjellgren's production. It is the worthy successor to the previous album and a huge step forward from "Obliterate
the Weak"."
To say that the album's songs exude super powerful and invigorating heavy death is an understatement.
BERZERKER LEGION strikes with triumphant and powerfully addictive warrior harmonies that will transform them into an unstoppable beast both live and in the studio.
