Young Artist of the Year 2017 from the prestigious magazine Gramophone, Beatrice Rana leaves a mark through her concerts around the world with her impressive maturity and deep musical personality. Born into a family of musicians in southern Italy, Beatrice began her piano studies at the age of 4 and became a student of Benedetto Lupo at the Nino Rota Conservatory, from which she graduated early at 16. Beatrice studied at the Hochschule in Hanover with Arie Vardi and continued her studies at Santa Cecilia in Rome with Benedetto Lupo. In June 2013, at the age of 20, she won the 2nd Prize (silver medal) and the Audience Award at the very prestigious Van Cliburn Competition in the United States, which propelled her to the very high level she is destined for. She had been revealed on the international stage two years earlier by winning the 1st Prize and all the special prizes at the International Competition in Montreal. Since then, she regularly performs in the most illustrious halls and festivals around the world where she plays with the greatest conductors and orchestras. In November 2015, her first album with Warner Classics dedicated to Prokofiev's 2nd Concerto and Tchaikovsky's 1st Concerto, accompanied by the orchestra of L'Accademia di Santa Cecilia di Roma conducted by Antonio Pappano, received the highest distinctions (Editor's Choice from Gramophone Magazine, Disc of the Month from BBC Magazine). This record earned her the title of Revelation of the Year at the BBC Music Awards 2016. In 2017, Beatrice presented her magnificent version of the Goldberg Variations with Warner Classics, which she played on several major stages and which earned her the title of Revelation of the Year by Gramophone magazine and Female Artist of the Year at the Classic Brit Awards in London. The disc also received the Edison Award in the Netherlands. This Stravinsky-Ravel disc will be released in the fall of 2019.
