Bang On A Can All Stars

Steel hammer

Description

To write Steel Hammer, the American composer Julia Wolfe drew her inspiration from the legends and music of Appalachia, a region in the eastern United States. The text of the work is based on the traditional ballad of John Henry, sung by the Norwegian trio Mediaeval and accompanied by the Bang on a Can All-Stars ensemble.
