Freshly released from the launch of his latest single, 'Alive!', British artist Bakar announces his highly anticipated second album, titled Halo, which will be released on September 1st under the Black Butter label.
Halo marks the beginning of a new era for Bakar. After his acclaimed 2018 mixtape titled BADKID, Bakar can be compared to a modern-day Jack Kerouac on this second album, exploring the dichotomy he feels as a young artist between the nomadic solitude of a life constantly on tour and the "lifestyle" of being a musician. Halo will include his latest single, 'Alive!', giving listeners a glimpse of what to expect from the enigmatic mind of the young Londoner.
Hailing from Camden, Bakar brings together all the lyrical skill of a rapper, the savvy of a producer, and the songwriting talent of a singer. His early musical influences come from London's thriving grime scene, but also from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and English indie bands like The Maccabees.
Bakar took the music scene by storm with his 2018 mixtape BADKID, produced in collaboration with his usual accomplice Zach Nahome. His single 'Hell N Back', number one in the United States in 2019, became a remarkable hit by reaching the Top 20 of the official UK singles chart - a defining moment in his career.
After two sensational mixtapes, modeling campaigns with Louis Vuitton and Prada, as well as a chart-topping single on Billboard AAA in the United States, Bakar is finally back with the follow-up to his debut album from 2022, Nobody's Home.
Through his music, Bakar depicts a 'universal story of love and the ever-evolving human experience. His upcoming album, Halo, promises to be his most captivating work to date.
