BAGDAD RODEO was born in January 2009 in a shared apartment in the heart of Paris, when two souls passionate about music and social satire, Christobal Sanchez Del Rodéo and MGR Delatourette, decided to merge their talents. When they are not listening to ACDC, The Dandy Warhols, or The Hives, they spend their days working and their nights composing. In private, the first melodies of the band emerge, blank pages fill with lyrics, marking the starting point of BAGDAD RODEO. It is François "Shanka" Maigret, guitarist of the French band No One Is Innocent, who will bring their musical vision to life by producing their first album. Recognition soon knocks on their door, and the band quickly signs their first contract, but with a record label that will not last. In April 2010, the music video "Monde de Merde" makes a sensational debut on numerous platforms and websites, allowing our fearless cowboys to travel across France and perform their first sold-out concert at the Nouveau Casino (Paris) for what they themselves called "Le Tour de Merde." Their self-titled debut album, released in June 2010, is praised by both the public and critics, such as the webzine Vacarm, which describes it as “Fiery and sultry,” propelling them into a whirlwind of concerts across France. It is during this time that the band's lineup expands with the arrival of Matthieu "Houston" Lesénéchal on keyboards and Yayo on bass, contributing to the development of their second album, "DEUX." This album is once again entrusted to François “Shanka” Maigret. It is recorded at the Midilive studio and then mixed at the Acousti studio in Paris. In November 2012, BAGDAD RODEO organizes a memorable concert at New Morning for the launch of “DEUX.” BAGDAD RODEO asserts its style and finds its identity: a committed rock infused with dark humor. In an interview, MGR Delatourette, when asked about his biting sense of humor, replies that humor can sometimes also serve to convey a message, reminiscent of the phrase by the “philosopher” Didier Super, “better to laugh than to give a damn.” After three years of frenetic touring, the band moves to Montpellier, where they begin composing their third album. This time, they decide to break free from producers and launch a crowdfunding campaign: a success that encourages them to create their own structure. In 2017, the album “TROIS” is recorded at the Vox Rapido studio in Montpellier and is intended solely for fans. Taking advantage of the pandemic, the band sets up their own studio and renews their lineup the following year with the arrival of Bud on bass and Bertrand on drums. Christobal Sanchez Del Rodéo and MGR Delatourette begin writing their fourth album, naturally titled "QUATRE – L’ALBUM SANS FIN – PART.1," an infinite project composed of tracks that will be released gradually. “There will never be a “CINQ” but a “fourth infinite album, which will be pressed from time to time.” "QUATRE - L’ALBUM SANS FIN - PART 1" bears the unique signature of BAGDAD RODEO, nourished by the rock of AC/DC, Bérurier Noir, or their touring friends Les Fatals Picards.
