Locked in darkness for over a decade, ever since the unsettling events that led to the group’s creation, Briqueville bewitches audiences with a hypnotic chant that evokes the heaviest elements of doom metal and post-rock before blending them with ominous field recordings, found sounds, and haunting traditional instrumentation. As winter reclaims the night, Briqueville will unveil "IV", their latest exploration into the darkest depths of the soul. The Belgian collective’s pulsing, repetitive rhythms and penetrating, guttural guitar work return, accompanied by a more prominent vocal presence, ethereal melodies, and unsettling lyricism that explore the deeper, richer sonic palette first heard on 2020’s "Quelle." Briqueville first assembled from members of various local scenes with the ambition of improvising around a single droning note. After latching onto something raw and powerful, the group suddenly found itself confronted by a stranger telling tales of a hatred brewing for years. Since then, Briqueville has anonymized itself behind black robes and occult golden masks, unifying the collective into a single sound, a singular, faceless force, hell-bent on converting audiences worldwide. With "IV", however, Briqueville begins to lift the veil. In addition to the auditory despair the band has crafted since their self-titled debut in 2014, "IV" is imbued with a new kind of intrigue.
