In his new album "Brightlight," Avishai Cohen showcases his multiple talents alongside a group of brilliant young musicians. Among them are some of the brightest from the new jazz scene, drummer Roni Kaspi and pianist Guy Moskovich, who form his core trio at the center of many tracks. They are joined by saxophonist Yuval Drabkin and several other carefully selected artists throughout the album. Roni Kaspi brings vigor and freshness to the album, infusing the music with a sense of spontaneity and dynamism. After more than three years of touring with Avishai Cohen, Roni Kaspi even has a title dedicated to her ("Roni's Swing"), written by Cohen in tribute to her dynamic and energetic drumming. Guy Moskovich, a pianist whose harmonic sensitivity and technical prowess have earned him recognition as a rising star in jazz, perfectly complements Cohen's bass lines. Yuval Drabkin on saxophone adds another layer of richness to the ensemble. His emotive playing and nuanced interpretations provide a compelling voice to the project, enhancing the overall depth of the album.
