"AWB" (alias "The White Album") is the second album by AWB and their first for Atlantic Records, produced by the legendary Arif Mardin and originally released in 1974. The album reached number six on the album chart in the United Kingdom and number one in the United States. Widely and rightly regarded as one of the greatest soul and funk bands, the now legendary Average White Band conquered the American, British, and international charts with a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980. AWB's repertoire has been a source of inspiration for many R&B groups and it is one of the most sampled bands in history. It remains relevant and continues to reach new generations of young audiences.
