In 2016, "One Batch Of Blues," the first stunning blues album, to lay the foundations. The following year, "Bongoes And Tremoloes," similar in proto-rock’n’roll, with the Sun 1953 sound and crazy percussion. Then in 2019, "Tripple Ripple," like everything that came before but on a quest for new frontiers and space. And today Hum Drum, which enters the 70s and crosses a new threshold in the form of a psychedelic spiral.
The cover represents the features of the Hum Drum, the group's drum machine (non-contractual photo). Except that this machine does not exist in reality, only in the unbridled imagination of Automatic City. And it's the same for the music. This record was born a little over a year ago, to emerge from the not very funky period of the health crisis. Like a desire to get back into it, with undoubtedly less blues, but more light, glitter, keyboards, drum machines, electricity, and above all a groove that makes all the tracks shake. New references to seek in vintage funk, liberated trips from the psychedelic era, when electric guitar and sitar blended to make cowboys in bell-bottoms dance.
A work of alchemists in search of the groove grail. They have both feet in it on Hum Drum, a breathless and frantic record, rare and beautiful like a shower of multicolored shooting stars, which will reflect for a long time in the eyes and ears of fans.
