Industrial metal visionary Author & Punisher presents his sixth album and his first album for Relapse, 'Beastland' Tristan Shone (the creator and sole artist behind Author & Punisher) drew inspiration from his career as a mechanical engineer and forged a relationship with design, sound and fabrication that ultimately led to his handmade “Drone Machines,” which represent the journey away from the world and he described traditional instrumentation as custom “precision machines.” A robotic experience blending industrial metal, noise, doom and drone, Author & Punisher is not unlike Nine Inch Nails, channeling Godflesh and moving through dark, uncompromising and often unsettling soundscapes with occasional detours into lush melodies and bursts of light.
