Chris Cornell screams like a possessed man while Tom Morello sets off fireworks with his guitar and his two rhythmic companions lay down a binary highway.
Behind the consoles, super-producer Rick Rubin shapes this gathering of heavyweights in an ad hoc manner, little concerned with modernity. Gone are the revolutionary ideals, welcome to realistic apocalypse. Moreover, to better paralyze the listener, Audioslave includes moments of relaxation through a few ballads and a handful of tracks influenced by the 80s.
