Aumicide

Description

Like all bands that fuse the many disparate incarnations of metal, Vancouver’s Atræ Bilis are not easily categorized. Death Metal, atmospheric dissonance, technical brutality, and much more are all thrown into the Atræ Bilis meat grinder, coalescing beautifully and disturbingly into their own signature fusion, like a perfectly functioning innovative machine. On the new album 'Aumicide', which follows the band’s 2021 debut full-length 'Apexapien', Atræ Bilis have made axiomatic strides in expanding the scope of their elegantly bewildering blend of incendiary invocations. Sounding both crushingly concrete and smoothly organic, the band amputates all boundaries, injecting cyberdyne slams, serrated inscrutability, and new unbridled expanses of vocal abuse. As conceptually engaged as it is musically, 'Aumicide' tells the story of a test subject subjected to experiments in faith removal through the introduction of Hell simulations to separate the self from the multiverse, culminating in the genesis of a new era; an egregore conceived by a total absence of divinity. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Cryptopsy’s Christian Donaldson, the massive production on 'Aumicide' absolutely pulverizes, elevating Canadian power to unexplored extremes of deadly heaviness. This manifestation results in one of 2024’s most singularly ambitious underground releases, propelling the often backward-looking Death Metal genre unflinchingly toward a far more terrifying future. - Follow-up to the successful debut full-length 'Apexapien' released on 20 Buck Spin in 2021- Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Cryptopsy’s Christian Donaldson- US tour dates confirmed for April/May, including an appearance at Northwest Terror Fest- FOR FANS OF: Ulcerate, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Neuraxis, Beyond Creation, Gorguts, Afterbirth, Deeds Of Flesh, Dying Fetus, Decapitated, Circle of Dead Children 1.
