After three albums with varied musical influences, always combining poetry and rock (the eclectic 'Smart & Piggy' in 2009, the atmospheric jazzy 'Je te tuerai un jeudi' in 2013, and the catchy pop 'French Kiss' in 2017), singer-songwriter ASKEHOUG returns with a collection of calmer, more textured songs, which he reveals in his fourth album 'La Rivière' set to be released on Friday, November 24, 2023. Driven by the desire to tell stories that reflect him and correspond to what he lives, sees, and feels. Eager to get closer to his deep desires and assert his own taste. ASKEHOUG becomes the master of his work, artist and label manager, and invites us to dive into 'La Rivière' with him and navigate through his tracks that are both refined, intelligent, poetic, and funny. Sometimes mocking and unsettling as well, over melodies that are at times airy, at times sharp - much like our world. For the arrangement of these eleven new tracks, he entrusted the production to his perfect accomplice Peter Combard (guitarist of Mademoiselle K), a good expert in sound matters.
