What's Up

Description

The fourth album by Told Slant, Felix Walworth's project, *What's Up* is a work of indie rock that is both raw and melodic, dedicated to New York and the transformations of the city. Through songs imbued with melancholy, anger, humor, and tenderness, Walworth evokes the disappearance of neighborhoods, alternative spaces, friendships, and ways of life, while questioning what it means to stay, create, and grow old in a city in constant flux. Primarily recorded on an eight-track tape in an improvised studio, *What's Up* is also Told Slant's most collaborative and adventurous album, featuring contributions from Hannah Pruzinsky, Jonny Baker, Ceci Sturman, Hellen Ballentine, Emily Sprague, Mari Maurice, and Elijah Wolf. At the intersection of the intimate and the collective, it extends the themes dear to Walworth—identity, friendship, loss, and the sense of belonging—by anchoring them in the changing landscape of New York.
