Description

Changing her name reflects a connection to her own origins: formerly known as LéPonds, Lisa Houdei adopts Biita, a name given by her aunt meaning "unique" in Farsi, as a link to her Persian heritage. This Bed Was Made For Me took shape between the Catskills and Topanga Canyon, where several songs were written while wildfires ravaged the California hills, bringing landscapes, uprooting, and the passage of time to the heart of the album. Recorded in ten days with Haley Heynderickx, here in her first role as lead producer, and engineer Sahil Ansari, the album favors intimate folk enriched with harmonies, psychedelic touches, and subtle orchestral arrangements. Buck Meek from Big Thief also contributes to this debut album by Biita Houdei.
