Released in 2002, Graham Coxon's fourth solo album marked a noticeable rise in the writing and arranging talents of the guitarist. The skillful fingerpicking of 'Baby You're out of My Mind' referenced early Bob Dylan, 'Locked Doors' flowed into a loose R&B groove, while the stripped-down riffs of 'It Ain't No Lie' were cut from a fabric similar to that of the then-emerging duo The White Stripes. Less DIY than its predecessors, the album features pedal steel player B.J. Cole and Louis Vause on keyboards, who helped fully flesh out the eclectic content. "I felt free to do what I wanted. I was expanding my sound and also finding a bit more calm in my songs," Graham recounts.
