Sorry Kid

Description

Sometimes, an album title arrives like a voice from across time. For Johanna Samuels, Sorry, Kid began as a message to her younger self, both an apology and acknowledgment at once. Gathering songs written as far back as 2007 alongside more recent works, the album bridges nearly two decades of lived experience. The record retains tones of the 70s without relying on them, drawing from a lineage of melody and restraint while remaining fully alive in its time. It feels inhabited, stable, and quietly powerful, like something finally understood without needing explanation. The result is intimate and fully realized, songs that started as questions now settling into something resembling resolution.
