Riot On Oxford Street

Description

American guitarist and composer Lenny Kaye, best known for his collaboration with Patti Smith and her band, has unveiled the details of his new live album, which will be released on Johnny Depp’s IN.2 Records label. Titled *Lenny Kaye and Friends: Riot in Oxford Street*, the album was recorded at the 100 Club on April 4 and 5, 2024; executive production was handled by Joe Delorenzo, the man behind these two nights. The recording brings together Lenny Kaye, Jim Jones, Rat Scabies (The Damned), Marty Love (Wingmen/Johnny Moped) on drums, Dave Tregunna (Sham 69/Lords of the New Church) and Greg Rice on keyboards, as well as Clive Jackson (Dr and the Medics) and Alan Clayton (Dirty Strangers) as guest vocalists. It also immortalizes Brian James’s very last performance (The Damned), performing the MC5 track *Kick Out The Jams*. The album will be released on October 16 to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the groundbreaking compilation *Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era*, widely regarded as the greatest compilation of all time.
