Klavierstücke brings back the isolated yet undeniable voice of Luigi Gaetano Gullì, saving him from the historiographical inertia that has too long identified 19th-century Italy solely with opera. In the Vier Klavierstücke, in A te !, and in the fumature, a composer emerges who unites the Italian cantabile, formal presence, and timbral refinement within an authentically European horizon.
