Our Roots

Description

"Our Roots" explores the Belgian repertoire for harp: rare gems by Jeanne Adrienne Kufferath and Jacqueline Fontyn are alongside works by Félix Godefroid as well as unpublished compositions by the harpist herself. The forgotten pieces *Simple Histoire* and *Autrefois* by Kufferath, as well as the virtuosic *Danse des Sylphes* by Godefroid, are performed on a historic Érard harp, while more recent works by Jacqueline Fontyn and Lise Vandersmissen resonate on a modern pedal harp. "Our Roots" thus highlights the rich history of the Érard harp as well as the range of possibilities offered by the world of the harp today. Lise Vandersmissen
