Nightbloom

Description

Produced by Howard Benson, with Joe Rickard, Neil Sanderson and Henry Flury as co-producers, NIGHTBLOOM marks a new stage in the evolution of Butcher Babies. Heidi Shepherd explains that she wrote the album after a period of deep distress, begun by therapeutic work that brought back traumas and memories long buried. Divorce, betrayal, grief, toxic relationships, the suicide of a loved one, religious rejection and the loss of a twenty-year friendship thus feed the album’s lyrics. But NIGHTBLOOM is not meant to be an album about suffering: above all, it speaks of survival, rebuilding and the ability to bring something beautiful into being in the heart of the darkest periods.
Each song was written with a precise intention, every detail contributing to the same narrative and a coherent artistic vision. Musically, Butcher Babies retains its characteristic aggression while further developing broad melodies and a modern, powerful production. The imposing vocals and massive instrumentation remain at the center of a sound that reflects the band’s evolution without denying its identity. Henry Flury also considers this album to be the most important work ever created by Butcher Babies. Between modern metal, intensity and catchy melodies, NIGHTBLOOM transforms painful experiences into an affirmation of resilience and rebirth. The band continues this momentum on stage with a major world tour planned for 2026.
