Minnets Langa Kedjor

Description

Minnets Långa Kedjor, by Mats Erlandsson and Gus Loxbo, is a musical topos conceived with great intimacy, evolving through a landscape blending free improvised music, electroacoustic drones and doom metal, according to an inherent dreamlike logic. Their collaboration finds its starting point in a long friendship and a shared frame of reference, shaped by their childhood environment in Bergslagen, with the distinctive atmospheres that a shared past geographical place can give rise to. Through associations and memories (geographical, poetic and imaginary), spontaneous musical impulses, shaped by a complicity developed over the course of 25 years, were captured instantly. These impulses formed the raw material for a process of transformation during which the music was amplified, darkened and refined through extensive studio work carried out by Mats Erlandsson in the tradition of electroacoustic music, using edits and audio transformations through digital processing and analog tape work.
