Vibraphonist Stefon Harris, a four-time Grammy Award nominee, celebrates the 20th anniversary of his groundbreaking project "Blackout" through a radiant journey blending jazz, soul, and ancestral African rhythms, marked by respect and fearless creativity. This album also pays a poignant (and beautiful) tribute to the final recordings of Casey Benjamin, a visionary in electro-soul-jazz. Released on August 28, the album revolves around the sung singles "I Know Love" and "What a Wonderful World" – each illuminated by the transcendent magic of Benjamin's vocoder – as well as powerful new instrumental pieces by Harris. Both a tribute and a continuation, Legacy Dances draws from the ancestral roots that shaped the sound of Blackout while perpetuating Harris + Blackout's ever-evolving vision of modern jazz. The album is affectionately dedicated to Benjamin.
