And Tant mal que mal isn’t so bad. “Je vais au silence” follows what he had presented as his “last album,” “Kit de Survie en Milieu Hostile”. Did we believe it? Honestly, not really. This title, a bit teasing given the circumstances, is in counterpoint to the 12 songs on the new album it houses. Bertrand Betsch sets out on a return to a more sonorous, fuller, more ambitious and more open production. After several albums conceived with an assumed economy of means (alone in the creation), the artist this time chooses to put the collective back at the heart of the creative process. Salomé Perli (violins, pianos, backing vocals), Alexis Kowalczewsky (clarinet, drums), Dmitri Tokarev (double bass) and Rodolphe Testut (drums) join Bertrand Betsch in this great musical journey produced by Marc Denis (himself on guitar and bass on the album).
