It’s A Joy To Be Alive is the third album by the British folk/pop duo Ferris & Sylvester. Through 11 tracks, they explore joy and hope at the heart of trials, inspired by their lives as musicians, a couple, and parents. The album marks an evolution in their sound — vocal harmonies, catchy guitars, a blend of sweetness and roughness — with a 70s pop touch reminiscent of Bacharach or The Carpenters. Written and recorded in their studio and released on their label Archtop Records, it is their strongest and most vulnerable project to date, praised for its "immaculate harmonies" (Rolling Stone).
