Warren Haynes has built a career by defying expectations. For over three decades, this Grammy Award-winning American bandleader and roots master has transcended genres, classification, and comfort zones, moving from his acclaimed solo work under his own name, to his famous jam band Gov't Mule, and the legendary American rock 'n' roll institutions, ranging from the Allman Brothers Band to the Grateful Dead. Representing this entire life of roots and branches in a single project, while demolishing and reimagining his collection of songs with bold orchestral arrangements, Haynes acknowledges, was an intimidating prospect that nonetheless held an irresistible allure. Now, the resulting live album – Dreams & Songs, released on September 18, 2026 – is a living document of the one-of-a-kind concert from 2019 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, featuring a visceral mix by the legendary Bob Clearmountain that captures the thrilling collision between Haynes' band, composed of seasoned rock 'n' roll improvisers, and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, which includes 64 musicians.
