Anomaly

Description

On their debut album, this Danish duo blurs the boundaries between death-tinged black metal, apocalyptic atmospheres and dark trap rap, creating a hybrid universe that is as surprising as it is intense. Abrasive guitars, icy synths, hypnotic sonic details and deeply emotional vocal lines intertwine in a soundscape that is both brutal and captivating. Formed in Copenhagen in 2022 by guitarist Jakob Harris and singer Gavin Mistry, the duo quickly found a creative alchemy around this shared desire to push genre boundaries. Gavin draws in particular on his personal experience as an immigrant in Denmark to fuel introspective lyrics, addressing themes of rejection, hardship and inner conflict. Despite the labels, the band embraces a free approach: the blending of styles is above all a way to express emotion. Rap, screams and melodies become tools in the service of heavy, visceral music, designed to create a real connection with the listener. Their approach, which they describe as “blackened rap metal,” above all reveals a singular project, at the crossroads of several scenes and driven by a strong artistic identity.
