A Graceful Sin

Description

Hopsydian is an Italian pop-metalcore band from Milan, formed in 2024. They blend haunting and sacred atmospheres with the power of modern metal, with a touch of alt-metal and post-hardcore urgency. Their sound, built on cinematic tension and explosive dynamics, fuses dark and ritualistic tones with polished contemporary production and massive, singalong-ready choruses, where beauty and brutality meet in perfect balance. The band was founded by vocalist Myles Idolo, joined by guitarists Loris Ronchi and Nikolay Deliyski, and completed by bassist Roberto Vezi. The drummer remains anonymous. Their name, Hopsydian, is derived from Hope and Obsidian, a “magic stone” symbolizing resilience, shadow, and rebirth, perfectly reflecting the duality at the heart of their music. Hopsydian explores themes such as worship, love, obsession, sin, and the temptation to become God, balancing the holiness of gold with the darkness of transgression. They combine modern heaviness with cinematic elegance, where intimate melodies and shimmering textures collide with crushing riffs and powerful rhythmic sections. Their songs unfold like a ceremony: they build atmosphere, sharpen emotions, and explode into choruses designed to be sung in unison by the crowd. Hopsydian explores the most dangerous forms of faith: worship, love, obsession, sin, and the seduction of becoming God. Their stories live in extremes: desire framed as devotion, temptation disguised as salvation, and beauty burning at the edges. It is an aesthetic of contrast: the holiness of gold against the darkness it can never fully conquer. Benjamin Wilson, from Caskets, helped Hopsydian develop the artistic direction of their album. Although they have only released six songs, Hopsydian has already proven its impact on stage. In 2025, they made their debut on the main stage of Slam Dunk Italy, sharing the bill with names such as LANDMVRKS, A Day To Remember and Caskets, before supporting Caskets in Milan shortly after. Momentum is building quickly, and with a fanbase already eager for the next chapter, Hopsydian is ready to turn its growing catalog into what it is meant to become: a fully realized era, accompanied by the tour that will bring it to light.
