Chippin' In Édition Anniversaire Limitée Vinyle Blanc

Description

Art Blakey is one of the greatest jazz drummers and made a name for himself in the 1940s by working with bebop musicians like Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Fletcher Henderson. In the mid-1950s, he founded The Jazz Messengers with Horace Silver, which quickly became an incubator for young talent. Thirty-five years after founding The Jazz Messengers, Blakey began his last year while still active. Due to the many promising young musicians of the time, he expanded his usual quintet or sextet to a septet for this excellent recording session, which includes "Brain Stormin'" and "Kenji's Walk." Because Blakey constantly encouraged his musicians to write music, the Jazz Messengers remained youthful in spirit, just like their leader.
