Appearing at the end of 2019, Archvile King is the solo project of French multi-instrumentalist Baurus. Drawing from the incisive and biting sounds of retro Thrash and Black Metal, his music is perfectly aligned with its inspirations, offering intoxicating melodies set against sounds as sharp as rusty steel. After a decidedly Thrash solo EP, followed by a darker album, Archvile King now transports us into his world with a new concept album delving deeper into the swamps of the Worm King. With Aux Heures Désespérées, it is Black Metal with hints of Heavy Metal and Thrash, and grandiloquent tones, that pulls us into the depths.
